Did someone say China
Jul 20, 2024 9:00 am
Hi there,
So it's official: We are heading to China for 10 days in September. We previously visited China in 2019 and visited Chengdu, Xian, and Beijing. We will head to Qingdao (where our daughter lives) and Beijing this time.
The last time we were in Beijing, we missed out on the Forbidden City, so that's high on our list. Travel planning to China is a little more complicated than usual.
In China, which is basically a cashless society, you have to use a QR code for payment, mostly from WeChat or AliPay, which should connect to your home credit card.
It would help if you had a VPN because the great firewall of China blocks you from accessing Facebook, YouTube, Google and many other apps.
Google Maps does not work, either. Add all this to the language barrier, and it can prove challenging. We are confident that our previous experience will hold us in good stead again.
