By the time this email lands in your inbox at 7 pm, we will be at sea on the Virgin Voyages ship The Resilient Lady on our way to Burnie, Tasmania.

We have left the kids at home and are dipping our toes into the cruising lifestyle. I have always said I am too young to go on a cruise, but recently, having turned 50, we decided now may be the time.

Virgin Voyages cruising out of Melbourne this summer provided the perfect opportunity to go on a short 3-night cruise to see what we think of this type of travel.

We have stayed away from cruises because we like getting out on the streets exploring, and I feel cruising limits that experience by being stuck on board,

Virgin Voyages is an adults-only cruise line and tries to set itself apart from others with features like al-carte restaurants.
