Have you ever had one of those weeks where it just isn't going as you expected it to? Or maybe a couple weeks, or let's be honest, maybe a month? Unfortunately, it happens, and if it's happening to you right now, I hope better times will soon come your way.
I've gotta admit, it's been a bit like that for me lately. Two weeks ago, the kitchen sink sprung a leak and water was coming out onto the floor from that cabinet underneath it. Fortunately, that's been taken care of and now under the sink has been reorganized! I've been meaning to do that for a while.
Last week, Furry-Editor Jordy had to have an urgent care vet visit and ended up requiring a week's worth of antibiotics, and now we're having to switch cat foods to something he's not allergic to (which has not made his brother Aaron very happy). Fortunately, he should be right as rain once we fully adjust to the new food.
And speaking of rain, this week, my area got hit with over three inches of it, and some of that rain ended up in my basement. Fortunately, with a little help from a wet vac, push broom, and time, we seem to be all dried out now.
That same day, my husband came home not feeling so great. He's still sick, and I'm watching Mini-Editor closely to make sure she stays okay. Cross your fingers that hopefully we'll escape it.
All of this has left me with a really piecemeal writing schedule for my current project, but every day it's one of the things I look forward to. And in case you need something to look forward to, I wanted to share with you the first lines of that book.
Despite the hectic nature of life these last couple weeks, I'm making good progress on this book and the end is in sight. Just a few more chapters to go!
But enough about me. I also have a short story for you from my friend Iris March. It is a prequel to her Succulent Sleuth series.

A new teen employee. Stolen cash. And a garden center full of suspects.
Meet Molly Green, the main character in The Succulent Sleuth Series, years in the past when she was a teen working at her grandparents’ garden center. When cash goes missing from the register, Molly works with Grandpa Will to catch the thief.
I hope you enjoy it! I haven't read it yet, but it's on my list, and isn't that series name catchy?
That's all from me for now, but more soon!
Until next time, stay cozy,
Rosie
