Oops. In my defense, I had no idea my little art project was going to go viral. But now that it has, is it really that bad? Yesterday, I was a nobody - struggling to get my boss to listen to my pitches and constantly being mistaken for the coffee vendor. Now that I’m engaged to my childhood bestie and hockey star Kaine Parker? My boss suddenly remembers my name and my mom even went as far as to say she’s proud of me.

It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world to keep this going, right?

I’m sure Kaine will think it’s hilarious once I explain it all. He’s always had a sense of humor…

It’s a little surreal to find out you’re engaged from the media. When I went to bed, I was happily single. When I woke up? Pictures of me proposing at a lake to none-other-than my childhood best friend Cassidy Rae Evans are everywhere.

She begged me to keep the lie alive, at least for a little while. Even though I thought she was out of her mind, I’ve always been a sucker for those big blue eyes. So here we are, fake engaged and planning our fake wedding in between hockey games. 

But if she thinks she’s going to be the one to call all the shots in this fake relationship, she’s got another thing coming. One wrong move and this house of cards will come crashing down. For this to work, we’re going to have to get my team to believe it too.
