Patient Success | Whittier Westborough

Mr. Skeadas’ second chance at life.

Mr. Skeadas entered Whittier in mid-October after a month in the ICU. With hard work, and our team’s help, he was able to wean off a ventilator and feeding tube, regain the ability to walk, and return back to his home life. Reviews by his wife Chrissa and his daughter Dena are true testaments to what we do here at Whittier, and why we do it. His recovery was miraculous, and we all shared in their joy!

Celebrating Staff | Whittier Bradford

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital-Bradford recognized Ken Siriois, LPN as our Distinguished Service Award for the month of December! 👏

We expressed sincere appreciation for Ken’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to staff and patients on the TCU. Ken shows compassion and respect, and he possesses strong leadership skills, serves as a resource for staff, and fosters a positive work environment with humor and humbleness. He exhibits teamwork, flexibility, and reliability, and when the days are busy and feel chaotic, he is the calm.

The five earliest signs of heart failure are very subtle and easy to ignore. To help doctors and patients quickly spot heart failure symptoms, the Heart Failure Society of America developed a handy tool that goes by the acronym FACES.

 F = Fatigue

A = Activity limitation

C = Congestion - fluid buildup in the lungs

E = Edema or ankle swelling

S = Shortness of breath
