Using AI to modernize archaic English before translating into Khmer
We are so thankful for each and every one of you and your partnership in the Gospel ministry in Cambodia.
Artificial Intelligence has been a hot topic in recent years, especially with the release of tools like ChatGPT that many find helpful in their daily lives. As translators committed to producing Christ-centered resources in Khmer, we are always looking for ways to utilize technology to increase the speed and accuracy of our work. While A.I. isn’t yet capable of providing high-quality translations on its own, we’ve discovered valuable ways to incorporate it into our process.
One effective use has been generating modernized English texts alongside the original, helping our translators understand the meaning of more archaic language. This has been particularly useful in translating works like John Calvin’s commentary on Colossians and Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret. Additionally, we’ve found A.I. helpful in preparing study guides for books by creating initial outlines and questions, which our team then refines into the final version.
We’re excited to see how these tools continue to develop and how we can leverage them to produce more resources that glorify Christ. Thank you for your continued prayers and partnership in the gospel ministry in Cambodia. Your support is invaluable as we work together to further God’s kingdom.
