🎾 my 8-step forehand volley formula

Hi ,

Here’s something you might find interesting:

My younger daughter, Bianca, is now 18 and I taught her tennis since she was 5 until 12 years old.

At 12, seeing that her passion for tennis was fading, I asked if she wanted to continue.

I was not surprised to hear her say… no.

At 17, after 5 years of time away from tennis, she decided to come back to it.

This week, we decided to practice tennis together and work on the slice serve

To my surprise, even though as a child she had a pretty good slice serve with lots of spin on it, I noticed that now she was not able to do that anymore.

She said that last year, while practicing her serve, she was working on some new techniques.

So I proceeded to take her step-by-step and teach her the slice serve… again!

Sadly, no matter how much I tried, she was hitting the serve with sidespin, but not even close to what she used to as a child.

Then, like every coach who has a lot of tricks in their bag, I pulled one that worked like magic:

I changed her grip from continental to eastern backhand - her serve instantly improved with more spin and consistency without sacrificing power.

This is the grip I’ve been using since I was 15, and it appears that my daughter is very comfortable with it too.

MY 8-STEP FOREHAND VOLLEY FORMULA

The volley, to me, is the easiest tennis shot in tennis. Yet, it takes some practice and understanding to make it a technically sound stroke.

In this video, I will show you how easy it is to learn, make it efficient, and, if you are a coach, to teach it in the simplest way possible to your students.

My 8-step method I use when teaching beginning players the forehand volley (free, full lesson)

Let me know in the comments (under the video) what you think and if there is anything else you would include to make the lesson complete.
