coming to the US (2)

Hi ,
I hope this message finds you well.
This is an email I’m sending to all the friends I could find from the times I used to coach tennis in Southern California. I apologize if I do not reach out directly to you, but, considering the recent events, I find myself in a bit of a… hurry. :(
A quick brief:
My younger daughter, Bianca, who recently turned 18, wants to move and live in Southern California. This is her dream since she was 12. :)
I’ll be travelling with her, from September 20 until December 9, to help her settle and find a job or two to support herself.
By the way, Bianca has always been a precocious child and has shown initiative and entrepreneurial talents. She has been working and volunteering for the past years, from jobs at the local Subway, to summer camps, and even as an assistant tennis coach. She got her tennis certification at the age of 17 and recently got her driver’s license.
Bianca is a very good tennis player, and she is hoping to find a job as a tennis coach at one of the clubs in Southern California, teaching kids 10 and under.
However, every beginning has its obstacles:
Moving to the US, we knew we had to get two important things done - a car that would allow us to move around, and an apartment to stay.
While the car is almost secure due to an old friend of mine who has a shop (the same one who sold me the white Hyundai you saw me driving while coaching in your area), the apartment situation is a bit tricky…
Even though I have a high credit score of 794, a US bank account, and a comfortable business here is Europe, it is not enough to secure the rent if you are not living in the US.
Despite that, we managed to persuade a Dana Point landlord to let us rent his 1-bedroom unit… until two days ago, when he discovered there is a problem with the shower. He now wants to fix it before renting it. Which means it might take a few days, possibly weeks.
He suddenly decided not to rent it anymore this month.
Now we, my daughter and I, found ourselves with less than a week before our flight to the US… with no apartment/place to live once there.
I am writing this message to everybody whose email I could find; therefore, please do not feel pressured to respond.
However, I have a favor to ask:
If you know anybody in your neighborhood, or a friend who is renting a studio or 1-bedroom apartment, or even a room in their house, and is willing to take in two people (my daughter and me), please let me know.
We are going to pay, obviously, and our budget is anywhere up to $2k/month.
If it is an apartment in the San Clemente/Dana Point area, we could even consider renting it for long term (1-2 years), especially if it is in a safe area.
For a room to rent (in the same house as the owner), we would be staying for less than a month, just enough for my daughter and me to find, eventually, our own place.
So any help in this regard will be very much appreciated.
With one week left until leaving Romania, we are going to keep searching on platforms like Zillow, FurnishedFinder, etc. However, your help will be very much appreciated.
Best regards,
Cosmin & Bianca
