Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...

Parables: Go Big For The Kingdom Of God (Pastor Jeff Lynch)

image

We were joined by an incredible guest speaker, Pastor Jeff Lynch. His sermon dives deep into the power and presence of the Kingdom of Heaven—not just as a future destination, but as a present reality we’re invited to participate in. Through parables, humor, and raw truth, the message reminds us that God went all in for us—and now it’s time we go all in for Him. Are we building our own kingdom or His?

Weekly Bible Study List

  1. Matthew 13:44 – “The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field…”
  2. Matthew 13:45-46 – “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls…”
  3. Galatians 5:22-23 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…”
  4. Matthew 25:1-13 – The parable of the ten virgins.
  5. 2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise…not wanting anyone to perish…”

The Sunday Outline & Notes

The sermon opens with a call to wake up spiritually, embrace the presence of God in the moment, and engage with the message. Pastor Jeff introduces the series on parables, emphasizing how Jesus taught deep truths through accessible stories. The title: Go Big for the Kingdom sets the stage for a message about bold faith, radical surrender, and Kingdom impact.

1. The Kingdom of Heaven: Not Just a Place

An Operation Jeff breaks down a key distinction: Heaven is a destination, but the Kingdom of Heaven is an operation—it’s how God works in the world through us. When we live with love, patience, kindness, and sacrifice, we’re bringing Heaven into the here and now.

2. The Treasure in the Field: Push All the Chips In

Referencing Matthew 13:44, Jeff uses a poker analogy: when you know you have the winning hand, you push all your chips in. Likewise, when we understand the value of the Kingdom, we go all in. The man in the parable sold everything for a hidden treasure—what are you holding back?

3. You Are the Pearl: God Went All In for You

In a twist, the next parable (Matthew 13:45-46) shows that we are the treasure—God is the merchant who gave everything to buy us back. No matter your past, addiction, pain, or prison, God sees you as a pearl of great value.

4. The Parable of Readiness: Ten Virgins and the Wedding

Matthew 25 highlights spiritual readiness. Half of the bridesmaids were prepared; half weren’t. The Kingdom is for those who keep their lamps full—not out of fear, but out of love and longing for God’s presence and purpose. Jeff challenges us: Are we ready?

5. Building Your Kingdom vs. Building God's

Many of us are duct-taping our lives together, focused on our own success or simply surviving. But if our focus is on building our kingdom, we miss the power and peace of God's. Jeff makes it plain: “God will let your plates fall—so He can rebuild your life His way.”

6. The End of the Road: Facing Eternity with Confidence

With raw emotion, Jeff talks about being in hospice rooms—seeing the peace of those who know Jesus and the fear in those who don’t. Eternity is real. The door won’t always be open. Will Jesus know your name?

From Sermon to Action

The altar call is heartfelt and urgent. If the Kingdom of Heaven is more valuable than anything else—why do we hesitate? God’s invitation isn’t about guilt—it’s about life. Step out, step forward, and go all in.
