Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...

The Time Is Now: Choose Now or Choose Later

image

In this sermon titled Choose Now or Choose Later, Pastor Jared emphasizes the urgency of addressing sin in our lives. Using the text from Matthew 5:29-30, he illustrates how serious sin is and the radical action it demands. Sin not only separates us from God but deceives us into believing we can live without consequences. Jesus offers us the opportunity to overcome sin and live in freedom, but we must make the choice now, not later, to turn away from it and follow Him.

Weekly Bible Study List

  1. Matthew 5:29-30 – “If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away...”
  2. Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
  3. 2 Corinthians 6:2 – “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”
  4. Jeremiah 17:9 – “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”
  5. 2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise... He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish.”

3 WAYS THAT WE TAP INTO THE POWER OF FAITH

  1. Sin Is a Serious Matter - Sin is more than just external behavior; it's a rebellion against God that separates us from Him. It affects our lives in subtle yet destructive ways. Pastor Jared explains how sin deceives us by offering temporary pleasures that lead to long-term chaos. The real danger lies in how sin can slowly take over, leading to greater consequences if not addressed.
  2. Sin Requires Radical Action - Jesus teaches that we cannot manage or hide sin; we must remove it completely from our lives, no matter how drastic the measures. Pastor Jared stresses that only through Jesus' sacrifice can we overcome sin. Jesus modeled the humility, obedience, and selflessness required to combat sin, and we are called to do the same in our own lives.
  3. The Time is Now to Fix Our Sin Problem - The urgency of repentance is central to the message. Pastor Jared reminds us that the opportunity for repentance won’t last forever. Now is the time to turn away from sin and embrace the grace offered through Christ. The Bible makes it clear that today is the day of salvation, and delaying repentance could have eternal consequences.

From Sermon to Action

Pastor Jared closes the sermon by emphasizing the transformative power of repentance. It's not just about seeking forgiveness but experiencing the life-changing grace of Jesus. For many, the next step is to respond to the call of repentance, turn from sin, and walk in the new life that Jesus offers.
