Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...

Uncommon Cents: America's Got Talents

image

In this opening message of "Uncommon Cents," Pastor Jared challenges us to think differently about our finances and resources, reminding us that true fulfillment comes from stewarding God's blessings, not chasing temporary gains. Using the Parable of the Talents, he shows that God entrusts us with resources and expects us to use them wisely, putting Him first. By prioritizing God over material pursuits, we unlock joy, peace, and a life aligned with our true purpose.

Weekly Bible Study List

  1. Matthew 25:21 (ESV): "His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.'"
  2. Deuteronomy 8:18 (NIV): "But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today."
  3. Matthew 25:14-20 (ESV): The Parable of the Talents – emphasizing God’s trust and expectation for us to steward what He gives.
  4. Proverbs 3:9 (NIV): "Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops."

3 THINGS WE RECEIVE FROM GOD IN OUR STEWARDSHIP

  1. An Uncommon Trust- Pastor Jared emphasizes that God’s trust in us is greater than anyone else’s. True joy is found when we honor God with every aspect of our lives, not just our spiritual practices. The goal is a life where everything—from money to relationships—is aligned with God’s purpose.
  2. An Uncommon Loan - Every blessing we have is a loan from God, and He expects us to manage it well. Just as a bank expects payment on a loan, God expects us to honor our commitment by prioritizing Him in our finances. Mismanagement, or putting our own desires above God’s, risks having our blessings "repossessed."
  3. An Uncommon Blessing - Pastor Jared illustrates how the blessings of joy, stability, and peace come when we follow God. He shared the illustration of his father's piano gifting being passed down and used to engage his kids. Like music guiding their movement, money should not direct our lives. Only God should have that authority. By managing our finances and resources according to His plan, we unlock blessings that go beyond material wealth.

From Sermon to Action

As the message concludes, Pastor Jared urges everyone to recognize God as the true owner of all they possess. Only when God is first can we experience the full healing and blessings He offers. Stewardship is more than a concept—it’s the pathway to a life of fulfillment, purpose, and peace.

GOD always finds a way to speak to me in a way that is undeniably him. I believe, that blessing alone, may be the reason for the unshakable Faith I have in him and who he is. That being said, this message was everything I needed to hear. GODs timing is also never short of perfection and his timing here proves just that for me. Thank you and GOD Bless.
