Here is a recap of our message from this weekend...
COME & SEE: WHAT'S YOUR STORY
In “Your Story Is Enough,” Pastor Jared reminds us that sharing our faith isn’t about perfection or preparation—it’s about telling our story. Like the Samaritan woman who left her water jar behind to tell her village about Jesus, we’re called to let our encounters with Christ move us to action. God doesn’t need our perfection, just our availability. Our story is our testimony—and it’s powerful enough to change lives.
And don't forget the brand new Fasting Forward App to help you spiritually fast with purpose this year. This is a web based application (It's not on the app store, YET...). You can access it here:
Weekly Bible Study List
- John 4:28–30 (NLT) – “The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, ‘Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?’”
- John 4:39 (NIV) – “Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony.”
- Romans 1:16 (NIV) – “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”
The Sunday Outline & Notes
Pastor Jared begins by drawing a parallel between how easily we share our favorite restaurants, shows, and products—and how hesitant we can be when it comes to sharing about Jesus. We don’t rehearse recommendations for Netflix, but we often overthink sharing our faith. Why? Because we forget that good experiences naturally create invitations.
The Samaritan Woman: A Story of Transformation
In John 4, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman—an outcast, weighed down by shame. In a single encounter, He reveals that He knows her story, her pain, and her past. Instead of condemnation, she finds compassion. And this encounter changes everything.
Leaving the Water Jar Behind
The woman’s act of leaving her water jar symbolizes leaving behind the burdens, habits, and identities that once defined her. Many of us try to follow Jesus while still holding onto our “water jars”—our old ways and fears. True encounters with Jesus interrupt our lives and reorder our priorities.
Your Story Is Your Evidence
Without formal training or theological education, the woman runs back to her village with a simple message: “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did.” Her testimony leads an entire town to faith. Pastor Jared reminds us: people can debate theology, but no one can argue with your story.
Obedience Over Perfection
God doesn’t wait for us to be qualified; He uses us right where we are. The Samaritan woman wasn’t perfect—her reputation was shattered—but her obedience to share her story made her a powerful witness.
Final Call to Action
This message challenges believers to see that buildings and lights don’t bring people to Jesus—witnesses do. Growth happens when ordinary people with real stories share what God has done.
Two Challenges for the Week
- Remember What Jesus Has Done for You – Reflect on where He found you and what He’s done in your life.
- Invite Someone to Come and See – Write down five names, pray for them, and invite one person this week to encounter Jesus.
