Happy (almost) New Year!

If we may offer one piece of advice as you ring in the new decade (gasp!), it’s this: Be kind to yourself.

Self-care is important for our mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health. We can’t live our best lives or be our best selves without being kind to ourselves.

Here are some examples of how you can be kind to yourself: Eat a healthy diet, sleep well, relax, meditate, laugh, express gratitude, move more, engage in positive thinking, and respect yourself.

Honor Brené Brown’s advice to “talk to yourself as you would talk to someone you love.” Amen.

To help you be kind to yourself, particularly when your IBD is acting up, we created the Wellness By Food “IBD Sick Day Self-Care Cheat Sheet.”

This tool will help you stay hydrated, breathe, and prepare simple and soothing gut-healing recipes.

As always, email your feedback, including questions and comments, by responding to our weekly newsletter.
