Summer Sale

Hi, this is Patrick Dubroy and Mariano Guerra. You're getting this email because you purchased (or signed up for updates about) WebAssembly from the Ground Up. If you're no longer interested in these emails, no hard feelings β you can find an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Hey everyone β
It's been a while! We're back with one small book update and a few Wasm tidbits for you.
Summer Sale
First off β the summer holidays just started here in Southern Germany, which seems like a perfect excuse for summer sale!
So, if you haven't already bought the book, head on over to wasmgroundup.com and snag yourself 25% off with the code SUMMER25.
And if you have already bought the book, how about recommending it to someone who hasn't? They can buy you a beer with the money they'll save. (Preferably a good Bavarian one.) π»
Wasm tidbits
- Node v24.5.0, which was released last week, supports directly importing Wasm modules out of the box (previously, it was only available behind a flag).
- I [Patrick, that is. --Ed.] posted about my Wasm macroassembler, which provides a slightly higher level API over the low-level assembler library that we create in the book. I'm using it as part of my work to add WebAssembly support to Ohm, which is being sponsored by Shopify.
- WebAssembly Branch Hinting: From an idea to W3C standard is an interesting look at the journey from an idea ("it should would be nice if Wasm supported thisβ¦") to a standardized feature.
- The May/June edition of ACM Queue is all about WebAssembly β with articles by Ben Titzer, Conrad Watt, Andy Wingo, and more.
- Wireworld is a kind of cellular automaton, similar to Conway's Game of Life; and Wasm4-Wireworld is an implementation of Wireworld for the WASM-4 "fantasy console" using Hoot, a Scheme-to-Wasm compiler.
Take care,
Pat + Mariano
