Ever since I have been writing articles on global trade and the world of trade compliance the past year and a half, a few people have reached out to inquire about me and my interests.
One of those persons was Chen Cui, a twenty-something, who stated he followed my How to Become a Customs Broker newsletter and was particularly interested in trade compliance and about the customs broker profession, in general. He mentioned that he had attended the most recent ICPA (International Compliance Professional Association) Conference in Texas where he was ecstatic about making so many global trade professional connections.
Over the months, I would learn that he was working on Ginger Control, an AI-based start-up seeking to alleviate some of the outdated trade compliance systems and processes, and helping companies and importers discover duty savings.
Intrigued, I reached out to Chen to learn more about Ginger Control, and the following is our interview.
