Hello from Wales
Hi,
Thank you for all your well wishes for both me and Sky and our broken toes. We're both doing great and have no plans to break anything else anytime soon :)
In book related news, I've just finished writing a fun short story and have ordered a cover for it. As soon as I can, I'll set it up on Bookfunnel and send you the link. I had hoped to share it with you this week, but I'm a bit behind. My husband had a bit of a breakdown in work last Monday and is currently off sick and undergoing treatment, so everything has been a little stressful. He'll be fine. He just needs to take some time for himself and not go back to teaching.
I'll be in touch again in 2 weeks.
In the meantime, as always I have some book fairs and great books by fellow authors to check out below. I've also posted a quick snippet of my new story.
Speak soon

Quick snippet of Chasing Hope (The Fae Stalker Chronicles Prequel)
'Damn it!'
I'd been tracking the pwca for three days. Right after the shapeshifting fairy made its first kill. I had hoped to prevent another, but the moment I walked out the station door and the cold blast of October air hit me, I knew I'd failed my task. Beneath the prevalent hint of ginger, chilli, and other spices, the metallic scent of blood drifted on the breeze.
I stepped out into the night-time street and scanned the shadows created by the street lights. The buildings pulsed with music and voices, but only a few faces greeted me. A young women no more than twenty with a woolly hat covering her long blonde hair shouldered her bag and scowled at me. I shifted my gaze to the man next to her. He wore jeans and a black quilted gilet over a grey hoodie. His head was bowed and focused on his phone. He sensed my gaze, raised his head, and smiled. The young woman scowled further and linked her arm in his before dragging him away. At any other time, I'd find the act humorous, but all that mattered now was that neither was the goblin-like fairy I hunted.
A doorman stood guard outside a club. A few people milled around outside. All smiles and friendly jeers. A door opened, filling the street with the sound of a bell. An old man in a navy funnel neck coat blew onto his hands with foggy breath and stamped his feet as he emerged from the Chinese restaurant. I'd already moved my attention to the surrounding alleyways by the time he reached into his pocket and lit up a cigarette.
The wind whipped my hair around my head and assaulted my nose with its burden. I turned my face to the breeze. Beyond the Chinese restaurant and the accompanying row of clubs and bars, I spotted a small black Scottish Terrier in an open doorway of an apartment block. His nose twitched, catching my scent. He knew I was different. I could see it in the way he watched me with intense, unblinking eyes, and the way his erect ears twisted in my direction as if daring me to make a sound.
But just as he sensed my differentness, I sensed his.
"Found you," I said, obliging his dare and striding across the cobbled street towards him.
The dog's eyes squinted in a tear-drop shape. His jaw dropped open, and his tongue lapped out over his teeth for a few seconds.
I almost growled knowing the creature was laughing at me.

Until next time... Happy Reading!
