Hi everyone!

We've had a huge influx of new Arclanders, so welcome to you all.

If you haven't already had a chance to read through your Spellforgers Companion and the Book of the Graces please do check them out (it will help everything else we talk about in this newsletter make a lot more sense).

If you're waiting for a moment to get stuck in, the TLDR is as follows:

  • Magic in the Arclands world is created through spell forges that players must locate. There they can use forge points to create spells and items. You can read about the basics of Spellforging here.
  • Magic has recently returned to the world after an event called the Sundering, where the one god, The Keeper, died and released magical energy into the Mortal Realm.
  • Arclands has four base martial classes which can be augmented by three types of magic caster add ons after level three. Players can switch between caster and martial levels as they level up. This means that players can vary how magical or martial they want their player to be.
  • Magic is not ubiquitous, everyday or commonplace (there are no magic shops!). It is weird, unfamiliar, freaky, dangerous and taboo (just as it should be).

There is a ton of other stuff besides, but I don't want to spoil the books for you. All the lore in the books is expanded upon in our World Anvil where you can immerse yourself in the lore of the five dimensions.

If you've read both books and are hungry for more, get our zine, the Arclander, which contains new classes, origins and adventures and lore. Edition two of the Arclander is coming in June, and will be packed with all the best bits we couldn't fit in the Arclands core books.

Please feel free to contact us with any new spell, class, origin or other ideas you want to share (we'll put the ones we like in future Arclanders).

Many thanks and Forge Your Power!

Nick
