Rogues, plots, spears and masterplans

Hi everyone,
As usual, it's been an action packed week of blogging new D&D ideas and writing a bit more depth and detail into the Arcverse.
Firstly, if you're one of this week's new subscribers, welcome and I hope that you've already had a look in your two new core books, Arclands: The Spellforgers Companion and The Book of the Graces. Both are the first two parts of our D&D setting - The Arcverse, and should give you a depth knowledge of the Arclands classes, origins and Spellforging mechanics for 5th Edition D&D.
The Arcverse
Please check out our World Anvil site here for more depth lore on the Arcverse. This week I've been writing about the rainforests of Oloris and the culture of the Olorian people and their legendary Torrok spears. Next week we'll be carrying on from the story of Emperor Dures II and exploring the first Arcish family, the Ordrish Dynasty.
The next edition of the Arclander is due soon, and we will then complete our third title The Book of the Phantasm, the artwork for which you can see here:
Handy D&D stuff that we do every day
Ok, so this week we really focused on street intrigues, heists, rogues and skulduggery. Here is our feature on noir themed adventures and here is our article on heists. We also brought you guys an exploration of a dwarven city (plus some major NPCs) and a DM's guide to scaling up an adventure, and our post on eight types of magical sword. Hope, as ever, that this is helpful stuff that gives you tools to run and (most importantly) enjoy your game.
Psion News!
Ok so already we've had some amazing feedback from around the world to our shout out to the community for playtesters for our new system Psion. Next Friday two of our team, Chloe and Seb will be visiting UKGE promote the system to industry professionals and after that we'll be getting down to the business of producing the system, for which we will need our community input.
Part of the dream of creating this new book, which combines a setting neutral multiverse system that can be applied to high fantasy, sci fi, cyberpunk, horror, urban fantasy and any other setting, was that it would belong to the community and have input from people around the world.
If you'd like to be part of a process of play testing:
- Cinematic style play
- World building mechanics
- Innovative character design
- Vehicle, monster, item and weapon design
Then message us @versehome on Twitter or reply to this email and we'll add you to the beta test list, and you can help make Psion the Arcverse community's own system.
Future Blog Plans
It's an idea in its infancy at the moment, but we're keen to talk about games systems beyond D&D, and so at some point the blog will include articles about:
- Star Wars FFG
- Cyberpunk Red
- Mutants and Masterminds
- The One Ring
And probably a bunch of other stuff besides. The eventual goal, along with introducing people to our humble little RPG offerings, is to make a website that is supremely handy for GMs and players the world over. To this end, we'll be looking for freelancers in the next few months, so if you're interested in helping to make the best RPG website in the world (or at least for the moment in Wales, start small n'all) then give us a shout via Twitter or email.
Until then,
Take care friends and thankyou for joining us on this journey.
Nick
