Dear Friends,
Amid the chaos, we persist. And I hope that you are all keeping well.
Some terrific news concerning the anthology I edited, Northern Nights—it has been nominated for an Aurora Award, Canada's highest genre honour; and cover artist Serena Malyon has also been nominated for their terrific art that graces the cover. Further, 2 stories from Northern Nights—Premee Mohamed's "The Night Birds," and David Nickle's "Fancy Dad"—have been selected for inclusion in The Best Horror of the Year, Vol. 17 (Ellen Datlow, ed.). Congratulations all!
We still have the eBook on sale for just $4.
Our rights to Kay Chronister's fantastic debut Thin Places expired last week. When I alerted Kay to the fact the rights were expiring her agents secured a new deal with Counterpoint Press, who published Kay's The Bog Wife. The new edition will be out in October. We have exactly 13 copies left of our edition, if you'd like one. It was such a pleasure and privilege to publish Kay's first book.
I have a special 2-issue bundle of Weird Horror magazine on sale. You can get issues 9 & 10 for just $22. Price, as always, includes shipping. That's a 30% discount.
Speaking of Weird Horror, issue 11 should be out a bit early—late July or early August. Here's the glorious cover from artist Valin Mattheis.
As previously mentioned, our September release, Thomas Ha's sublime debut Uncertain Sons and Other Stories is up for pre-order. With advance praise from Kelly Link, Brian Evenson, Jeffrey Ford, and Premee Mohamed. You will not want to miss this one.
That's all for now. I am wishing you all the very best, and I am very thankful you are here. Thank you for supporting not only us, but also all the other indie presses bringing out great work.
Warm Wishes,
Michael (and the Undertow team)
