This Touched My Heart…This week, something beautiful happened.
A parent shared a video of her son introducing himself in Igbo.
Just a simple, short intro…
But you should have heard the pride in her voice when she said:
“Coach Nonny, I didn’t know he could speak like this”

Sometimes, the progress we dream of doesn’t arrive loudly.

It comes in the small moments, the sentence they attempt, the greeting they whisper, the Igbo word they remember before English.

These moments are small but they are identity in motion.

And that’s why we show up every week to turn little moments into lifelong memory.

Inside the Umuoma Community Highlights of the Week

Growing Confidence in Self-Introduction

Our children practiced new lines this week not just Aha m bụ…

but talking about their families, their likes, their dreams. Nna m bu Inginia

You should see how their confidence rises

when they say even one full Igbo sentence correctly.

This is how identity is built step by step, word by word.

Cultural Focus of the Week: Igbo Folksongs (Abụ)

It is beautiful to watch small voices carry the songs our parents sang to us growing up. This week, we took our children back to one of the sweetest parts of Igbo childhood our folksongs which carry stories, lessons, rhythm, memory, and joy wrapped together.

From “Onye bu nwanne m” to “Ochie dike mama”, our children lit up as they sang along, clapped, and moved to the beat.

Enrolment for our January Cohort is now open! This Is Their Moment (Don’t Miss It)

Every week, I see parents say:

“I wish I had started earlier.”

“I didn’t know my child could speak like this.”

“I don’t want them to lose the language.”

The truth is Children learn fastest at this exact age. When we miss these windows, it becomes harder later.

January is our biggest, most structured intake of the year. With our rich curriculum, don't miss it!
