The Hydra, the Harpies, the Chimera; Oh My!

Happy Monday !

This week has been an incredibly busy one for the Trivia Mystery team. Due to some unexpected life changes, we are running a bit behind with today's lagniappe. Never fear! Your facts are here!

In addition to International Women's Day, today is National Proofreading Day. Will the weekly typo still make it into tonight's quiz? Time will tell.

The Mother of All Monsters

This week, we were thinking a lot about famous women and the rounds we could write to best honor them. Unfortunately, some did not make the cut. You might know echidnas as those cute but weird waddling egg hedgehogs from Australia and nearby islands, or as the character in the Sonic games that can climb, but did you know the name comes from Greek myth?

Echidna was half snake, half woman, and is sometimes referred to as "the mother of all monsters", as her offspring comprise most of the famous monsters in Greek mythology, including: the hydra; the harpies; the chimera; the sphinx; Medusa and the other Gorgons; the three-headed dog, Cerberus; and his lesser known two-headed brother, Orthus.

Remember tonight's quiz starts at 8:00pm GMT/ 2:00pm CT. We've got 8 brand new rounds (no flags!) of questions. We hope to see you there!
