The simplest version of a business plan

Hey !

Sometimes we get to the end of the week and think 'YES, look at all that I've accomplished, go ME!'

And sometimes we get to the end of the week and think 'holy hell, thank goodness I made it, whew!'

This is just as true for me as for you and for everyone else.

Weeks are highly variable.

It's exactly because of this variability - that sometimes I win the week and sometimes the week kicks my ass - that I focus on keeping my business as simple as humanly possible.

Keeping things simple is what makes progress POSSIBLE for me (for my clients, for you), no matter WHAT kind of week I've got going.

So today I thought it would be useful to share what I think of as the 'simplest business plan' out there.

This is how I have built my business, it's how I teach clients to build theirs - and it works exactly BECAUSE it's simple, and it is something we can all do no matter what kind of week shows up.

There are three parts.

Ready?

  1. Show up
  2. Talk to more people
  3. Repeat 1 - 2

That's it.

Like, ALL of it.

And it could be that you're like 'dude, what the hell does this even mean?'

If so, consider this...

IF you want to use this super simple business plan, from here you answer these questions.

  1. What does it mean for you to show up? What does it look like? What does YOU showing up for you and your business and your people actually mean for you?
  2. How do you want to talk to more people? (Like, literally - where do you want to meet them and talk to them?)

Answer the questions, make the decisions that go along with the answers, and START.

Then do it again. And again. And again. And again. And again.

And before you get all in the weeds, remember: it doesn't matter which platform. It doesn't matter that you feel amazing every time you show up. It doesn't matter if you are having a shit week or a stellar one. It doesn't matter HOW or WHERE you show up - just that you DO.

What matters is that you - as you - show up somewhere, somehow and that you connect with humans.

And then do it again.

It sounds ridiculous. But it's not. It works.

Yesterday I had a client message me that she had her first 'complete stranger' sign up for her newest offer (she was both thrilled and scared to death by this happening which I think we can all relate to!).

Do you know how it happened?

She showed up. She talked to people. And she just keeps showing up and talking to people about what she's building... along the way someone she DIDN'T know yet saw how valuable what she's doing is and decided to jump in too.

She's not doing anything complicated. It's not taking her a ton of time.

She's showing up. She's talking to people and letting that be ENOUGH.

Because it is.

And it is for you too.

Every. single. week.

Happy Friday!

Warmly,

Sara

PS. If you missed the 3 Offers a Day workshop this week in Teachers in Business, it was FABULOUS. It's worth watching if you haven't - you can check it out here. As one of my group members said after watching and setting herself up to think about offers this way, 'This is going to be a fun month!.'

And.

If you're all about keeping it simple but the actual process of keeping things simple seems darn near impossible, I can help. Coaching is the bridge between wanting simple and HAVING simple. If you'd like to move from wanting things to be simple to actually HAVING things be simple, book a 1:1 call to talk about coaching here.
