If you accept 100% of the responsibility

Dear ,

You are REALLY good at accepting responsibility for failures, misses, messes, and disasters.

I am too.

When something goes wrong, you say ‘my bad’.

When you do just about anything, you think about how you could do it better next time.

When you make a mistake, you own it.

Which is awesome.

And also only gets you HALFWAY to success.

Taking responsibility for the icky stuff is necessary.

But so is taking the CREDIT when things go RIGHT - taking responsibility for the WINS.

Taking credit for wins is EQUALLY if not more important than taking responsibility for catastrophes.

But here's the thing...

We are trained to take responsibility for messes.

We are NOT trained to take credit for our wins.

And this sucks.

Because being 100% responsible for your results means owning the failures AND the wins.

What if you were equally as willing to accept credit as you were willing to accept blame or shame?

What if you could say ‘thank you, that WAS a great job.’ instead of ‘oh, that wasn’t a big deal?'

What if you could ACCEPT praise, wins, success, and credit rather than DEFLECT it?

What would be different?

At the VERY least you might FEEL differently about your work, your life, your time and your value because when we accept the good we acknowledge that WE are good (and that feels good...).

So today, what if you made ONE less deflection?

What if you chose to ACCEPT credit even HALF as easily as you accepted blame?

Who might you be able to become?

(Psst - whoever she is, I bet you'll like her....)

xo,

Sara

PS. This week's podcast episode is ALL about this... if you'd like to start even just thinking about taking credit for your wins more than once in a blue moon, it's for you.

Taking credit doesn't have to feel icky - AND, it might just be the missing piece to the puzzle that is YOUR success.
