You know what they say about skills, right?

Hey there, ,
I was talking to someone this weekend at a baseball tournament (yes, I live at baseball tournaments, until next week, when I'll be taking up residence in rock climbing gyms for the winter...), and she said 'Yeah, but I'm not a sales person, I could never do what you do.'
Maybe you've had a similar thing come out of your mouth.
'I'm not a sales person.'
If you've thought this - here's this thing I want to share today.
**There's no such thing as a 'sales person'.**
And you can't be or not be something that isn't a thing.
Instead - sales is a SKILL.
Which is AMAZING, because you know what's always true about skills?
They're LEARNABLE.
So whether you are or are not a sales person, think you are or are not a sales person does NOT matter not one little bit.
Sales is something we LEARN. Period.
The skills of sales - from the big ideas of making things interesting to people and speaking in a way they understand to the small intricacies of how to run a sales call or even just END a sales call - are all learnable.
We learn, and then we practice.
And as we practice, we improve.
Maybe you aren't a 'sales person' right now (and by that I mean someone who is comfortable with sales) - but all that *really* means is that you have some sales skills you'd like to learn.
Luckily, you're great at learning - and you and I both know that once you put your mind to learning something, well... it's done.
[btw - ALL of this also applies to whatever OTHER thing you think you are not... a marketer, an expert, a successful business owner, a techie, whatever... same, same, same... ALL SKILLS]
Today, ask yourself this key question:
What is the sales SKILL that I want to learn this week? How do I want to grow my skills around sales so that I feel more confident/comfortable/ready to make sales?
And then go. do. that.
If you're not sure what skills you need, are missing, aren't strong on - lmk, I can help you figure that out.
If you know what you need and what's missing is how to learn it - again, lmk, I'm happy to point you towards some options.
And if what you want is my help via coaching, either 1:1 or in small group?
I'm ready for that - honestly, sales skills are WAY easier to learn than you think. They don't take long to improve, and you'll feel *way* better about sales faster than you can imagine - this is something I see with coaching clients often, and it will also be true for you.
The fastest way for you to get in touch with me - or the simplest, really - is to just hit reply. Always feel free to do that, I'm here.
Happy selling :)
Warmly,
Sara
