When your brain says you overshared...
Nov 29, 2022 4:45 pm
Hey there ,
Yesterday I shared a post in my FB group where I told everyone all the ways there will be to work with me in 2023, when those things will happen, and exactly what they'll cost.
I wrote the post, hit the go button, and walked away. It was a post that had been on my mind for a while, and for the first hour I was patting myself on the back for getting it done.
Until.
My brain realized what had just happened.
And decided that all that sharing was WAY. TOO. MUCH.
At 6 am today I nearly took the post down. Like. Really nearly.
That's how big of a fit my brain had. Honestly, if I had been more awake I might have done it, I just wasn't all the way awake yet.
But then I got up, got my day going, and noticed something important.
NO ONE besides me was freaking out.
In fact, other people were reaching out to tell me - on the post, but also in messages, that the post was helpful a) for the information for their planning purposes, and also b) as an example of a way they can share with their people ahead of 2023.
So I had to step back and have a little chat with myself.
Did I really, like *really* overshare?
Um. No.
Did I have anything to *actually* feel embarrassed about [because that was most definitely the dominant feeling]?
Also no.
Was I being too much?
Nope again.
This morning I sat down and wrote all of this out. I knew it had to get sorted through. And here's the thought that I had about it, when all was said and done:
'If I tell them the options, they can plan for the one that fits them best. They get to choose and I trust my people to do what makes sense for THEM.'
And it was like 'ahhhhhhhhh. Yes.'
That thought?
That's why I shared to start with. I felt like if I knew the plan I might as well share it, because no one wins when people have less information. That's not how I want to do things.
I believe strongly (like, strongly) that we're all grown ups and grown ups are fully capable of making the decisions that fit THEM. Me sharing is just arming people with information, so they can decide what makes sense for THEMSELVES, so that YOU can decide for YOURSELF.
Has my brain's shit-fit settled all the way down?
Nope. It still is trash talking from the back, even right this moment.
But do I feel a little better because I remembered who I want to be as a business owner? [-->someone who implicitly trusts people and their capabilities and therefore doesn't need to hide or convince or be weird about sales of things]
Yup.
So, in the spirit of information, I'm going to give my inner critic (her name is Dot, btw, and she's some special) a cookie, and send her to chill, and share with you the 2023 plan.
Because we all win when we have more information.
In 2023 there are three ways to work with me.
1. 1:1 coaching: which is always open as long as there are open spots. Currently there are 2/12.
Monthly pricing for both weekly and bi-weekly coaching is going up in March 2023 (from today's $900/month and $500/month respectively to $1000/month and $600/month), so if you're interested in 1:1 you and I should maybe talk about it before then.
As an added note, bi-weekly coaching isn't generally open to everyone - the default is weekly unless there are compelling reasons we both agree to for a different cadence.
2. Small group coaching: which will launch 2x next year.
The first round will begin in February; the second will launch in October. 20 weeks, $3k (or $600/month) and groups are capped at 4 spots.
Small group coaching is MAGICAL. 6 weeks into my current groups EVERYONE has already hit at least 1 of their 20 week goals. It's SO. GOOD.
3. Selling by Giving and the SbG Implementation Lab: This will be a CLASS format, will live and recorded portions, and will focus on exactly what it sounds like - learning to sell by giving, and actually IMPLEMENTING that in your business.
SbG + the SbG Implementation Lab will start in March, and will run live for 15 weeks.
There will be 25 spots, there will be 5 scholarships available (details and application information will be out in the new year and yes you should take advantage of this, YOU should), and the cost for the entire thing will be $1250.
It is likely that SbG will run again live in the fall of 2023, probably September, and the cost will (most likely) be $2000 at that time.
And that's the scoop.
So, what now?
Well.
Have a question? Hit reply and ask.
Want a spot in something right now? Hit reply and say so, we'll work out the details.
Looking for something you don't see? Hit reply (see the theme here?) and tell me about it.
Want to tell me something great you have going, something you're proud of, something I'm doing you hate, something else? Also, hit reply, tell me all the things.
Happy Tuesday :)
Warmly,
Sara
