Making the thinking part of the new year one step simpler...

Hey there, ,

Happy New Year :)

I was NOT going to send you an email today - or really, this week, and yet here we are.

I promise there's a reason.

When I sat down with my journal this morning, I grumpily realized that sometimes - for me - the hardest part of journaling is deciding what to ask myself.

I *know* there are things to ask and think through, but mostly I'd rather not ask or answer those potentially tricky questions.

So I decided to take some of the deciding out of the process for me - and maybe for you - for the next 30 or so days.

I made a little template (yes, there was a ruler involved; no, I could not help myself) with 32 boxes, wrote a question in each one and cut them apart.

Now they're all in a cup.

Tomorrow, I'll just get to pick one and answer it.

Will I be thrilled with the question?

Probably not.

But will I answer it?

Yup. Because the hard part - the figuring out WHAT to ask - is done.

Soooo, why tell you this?

Well, first - I'm sharing the questions, because I mean, why not?

You'll find it in my FB group, in the files section; it's called '32 Questions to Start 2024'. (and if you'd rather just have it as a PDF in email, hit reply and I'll just send it to you this way... this email tool I use for my list doesn't love attachments...).

And second - because there's an important thing to notice here.

We all have things in our day to day processes - typically small decisions - that make things just one step harder, that make it just a little more unlikely that we'll do the things we know we want and need to do (like journaling).

When we notice these things we get to make ONE decision (like writing the questions out ahead and putting them in a cup) that can allow us to NOT have one more small decision in the way of progress.

When we do this, we reduce decision fatigue, simplify our processes, and speed our progress - all wins.

Today, think about something you KNOW you need/want to do that you just haven't been doing.

Is there a decision, or a series of decisions, gumming up the works?

If so, how can you make those decisions ahead of time to smooth the process?

Maybe it's deciding what you're going to offer which day ahead of time.

Maybe it's picking our your clothes the night before, or writing out what you'll eat for lunch each day (also, these are both me... :)).

Maybe it's blocking out time on your calendar for a specific task each day at the start of the week.

Maybe it's something else.

Or... maybe you know the problem and not what to do about it.

If that's the case - you're normal, and feel free to reply and say 'here's the sticky point, what do you think?' and I'll give you some ideas :)

That's why I'm here.

Here's to a simpler, easier, less sticky 2024.

Warmly,

Sara

PS. My jam is making the process of getting from here to where you're planning to get SIMPLER - through my FB group, in small group coaching, in 1:1 coaching, and in Selling for Weirdos.

If your processes are hurting more than helping, we can change that together - things will get simpler, and you will not be judged along the way... only helped.

Always feel free to reach out - let's talk about simplifying success in 2024.
