The precursor to all success is always the same

Hey hey ,
I had this realization today while I was being coached.
The precursor to success is always the same.
ALL success starts with the same ONE ingredient/step.
That ONE ingredient/step?
It's TRUST.
Trust is something we throw around in life and business in alllll sorts of super ridiculous ways.
It's easy peasy to say 'just trust the universe', and 'trust it will all work itself out' and blah blah blah.
It's all fine and well to believe too - LOGICALLY - but in actual practice?
It's not easy.
Turns out maybe it's the hardest part of running a successful business, who knew.
So, here's how this trust thing works.
Imagine you were making spaghetti.
You have water and pasta and a stove... great.
Do you have a pot for the water?
If so, you're golden - if not... you're probably out of luck.
And that?
That's the trust. And that's its role in success.
Trust is the PRECURSOR to success - the CONTAINER of it. Trust holds all of the stuff you're trying to cook/create.
And without the trust, without the container - there's no success, there's no spaghetti. (Imagine putting the water and pasta on the stove top without a container...)
Cool, right?
Um. How do you actually apply this?
Well, since TRUST is required for success at the BEGINNING, we can't just wait around for there to be evidence of success before we decide to trust, because it doesn't work like that. You can't make the spaghetti AND THEN get out the pot.
Instead, we have to start with it - which feels RISKY, and SCARY - mostly because we're taught that we shouldn't trust without evidence.
It turns out that TRUST is a DECISION.
Success BEGINS when we decide to trust ourselves, our work, our people, our businesses, our capabilities, our possibilities, humans, money, time... all of it, any of it.
And we begin this process with this ONE step:
Ask yourself: what IF I trusted things were going to work out? What would I do?
Then? Do that.
It's gonna feel weird (and people might tell you you're crazy). But it's also going to make a difference.
And when all else fails?
Remember that you are WORTHY of trust. I trust you. You can trust you too.
Warmly,
Sara
PS. If more TRUST sounds awesome but the whole practicing this sounds... awfully hard...I hear you, and I want you to know that this skill set - practicing the trust that creates success - is part of what I teach in 1:1 coaching.
If you're ready to TRUST all the things more and succeed as a result (plus have so much less time and energy wasted on questioning all the things, but that's a topic for another time), book a time to talk with me about coaching together.
