There are two paths to more...

Hey there, ,
I was just talking to a client about MORE.
She, just like you, just like me, wants her business to grow. She wants to help more people. She wants to do more good. She wants to make more money.
And also, she just simply cannot DO any more than she already is. In any given day there are already NOT enough hours, there's already too many moving parts, and there isn't enough sleep.
There isn't actually room for DOING more.
I bet you can relate (I know I can...).
For me, this is the biggest why of coaching.
Because there are TWO paths to more, and DOING more isn't the one I want to choose.
It's not the one that my client (or really, any of my clients) want to choose.
[and that's a big part of why people choose coaching to start with - because there's only so much more any one of us can do, and there is this lurking suspicion in the background that there must be a different way.]
There is another way. A second way.
It's simple. And even saying out loud feels crazy because so often simple feels crazy - like 'it can't just be THAT, really?'
But it is. What is it?
The alternative to DOING more is ALLOWING more.
I know. You're like 'gahhhh, WTH Sara, what does that even mean???'
It means we follow the steps we know work to create growth AND space together - we get grounded in our value, we connect with the people who need us, and we invite them to how we help - and then we ALLOW that to work.
We keep. it. simple. and trust that it works - because it DOES.
DOING more is working 80 hours a week. It's hustling harder, faster. It's pushing and redoing and reworking and desperately trying.
ALLOWING is doing what we know works, again and again, in a way that feels like us, that actually (insanely) CREATES space, and allows us to do MORE for MORE people in less time.
This is a thing.
Maybe you're like 'yes it is, I totally get it' and maybe you're like 'good lord, this is the day she really has dropped her last marble'.
It doesn't make this any less true.
In coaching, we definitely work on DOING things. But not all the things. Not all the time.
And listen, I hear you - we also can't just not DO anything - that's not the way we succeed - but also? ALL the doing isn't helping... if it was, you'd already be where ever you're trying to get.
In coaching, I help you DO what matters - which is not, in any way, ALL the things you're doing right now, and ALLOW it to work.
In coaching, I help you pull back from the more more more more more that you don't have room for, to a place where it's doing, as my client said this morning 'enough but also not too much'.
That's a place - and it's a more effective place to work from for today, and for the long term, than where you are now.
So today, two things.
First - ask yourself: where are you trying to MAKE MORE HAPPEN vs. allowing it? Where are you forcing the process instead of trusting it?
Second - if you are just plain old OVER being on team #doingmore and you'd like to switch sides, come join us on team #allowingmore.
Is it always clean and tidy and simple and easy? Nope. But a) neither is what you're doing now, and b) it happens WAY more often when we learn to allow than on the hamster wheel of crazy that is do do do.
The easiest way to get off the hamster wheel is coaching.
Small group coaching - 12 weeks of focus doing what matters and ALLOWING it to work - kicks off in less than three weeks, the week of 3/11. It's HERE.
The time to say yes to the most focused version of group coaching, the most impactful in the shortest period of time (so that you can be off the wheel of crazy BEFORE the start of summer), is now.
To join, hit reply and say you're in, ask a question, or ask to schedule a time to talk it through (I always have time for you, btw, so that's NEVER a bother). Or, skip the replying and book a time here.
No matter what?
If doing more worked it would have already. It's time to ALLOW things to be different. :)
Warmly,
Sara
