According to the accountant, last year I made just shy of $100,000.

More (by a LOT) than I have ever made in my adult life (and also, more than kind of INSANE).

In a pandemic.

In business, with a teaching degree that most people will tell you is not relevant to what I do.

Not every one of the dollars I made came out of my businesses.

Some of it came from teaching college kids (about a third...).

But most of it?

Most of it was money I created from NOTHING.

At the start of 2020 I had made a grand total of $0 in my coaching business.

I ended the year having contributed nearly $100,000 to my household.

And the best part?

I'm not special.

It wasn't magic.

And you can do it to.

I have a teaching degree, not a business degree.

I don't have my MBA.

I haven't taken any marketing classes.

And I am not a technical wiz.

Yet here I am, succeeding anyway.

It turns out that success is SIMPLE and the reason I've been able to succeed is because I have ALLOWED growing my business to BE simple.

My BIG secret is SIMPLICITY.

(and stubbornness...).

I focused on 4 SIMPLE things.

Ready?

1. Connection. Talk to (more) people, and be present.
2. No solving problems you don't have yet...instead, I think 'Is this a problem TODAY?' (and if it's not, I move on)
3. Having ONE goal that matters and staying true to it. If something doesn't forward that goal, now's not the time to do it.
4. Asking for help. I don't know all the things and I don't know what I don't know. The more I ask for help the more I succeed.

That's it.

That's my recipe for creating WAY more money than I've EVER made before.

It's simple (but for sure not 100% easy), and NOT vastly different from working in a school, as a teacher.

I didn't need to DO anything new, get a different degree, take a class or reinvent the wheel. I just did what I was already good at over and over and over.
