5-ish quick and useful things for today

I was thinking about what would be useful to share today, and came up with this quick list... that kept growing ;).
So, we're just going to jump right on in. Ready?
- First, I'm beyond honored to be a speaker at the IMPACT 7 conference that starts this Friday. If you run a tutoring business (or maybe even a tutoring-style business), the conference starts Friday 9/27 and is FREE to join. You can grab your ticket here (and then hop in to whatever floats your boat this weekend!).
[ps. my mom signed up too, because I'm pretty sure she just signs up for anything I'm speaking at, and she is NOT usually shy about telling people who she is, so if you see her, say hi ;)!]
- Second, TWO podcast episodes!
Episode 1: on the UNComplicating Business podcast this week, we're talking about simple evaluations. No spreadsheets, no need for hours of time or digging into all the things. Just 4 questions. So simple, sooooo powerful. You can listen here, watch here, or (NEW!) read it here.
Episode 2: on The Inside Story Podcast with my friend April Pertuis, and we're talking about (shockingly, I know) how NOT to make sales so weird. I didn't know this was coming out this week, and I'm BEYOND thrilled to be able to share it (and April, because she's all that and then some!) with you. You can listen here or read it here.

- Third, two super important, super simple ideas with BIG impact came out in coaching calls yesterday; both are worth sharing with you.
Idea 1: A client and I were recapping some of her big shifts over the last 6 months, and it ALL got tied together in this thought: 'If I am just consistently ME, everything works out.'
Y'all, this is a 9-word BOMB. The more yourself you are, the more consistently YOU you are, the simpler everything becomes. Period. In life, in business, in all the places. Yes, this is allowed.
Idea 2: This has been the theme of the week so far, and it's this reminder: As the business owner, your job is to share what you do, how it helps, and why it matters. The end. It is NOT your job to manage other people's feelings about what you do, how it helps, and why it matters - it is the job of the other people to decide if you are or are not for them.
Just say what you need to say - do your part - and then let the other people do theirs. We stop our own progress when we're trying to play BOTH roles.

- Fifth, I had a catch up with a former client last week (which was the most fun, what a treat) and she asked me what was on my 'chicken list' - which is essentially her asking me what's my next big scary thing. I didn't have a great answer for her (which I'm okay with...) and also, now I'm on the hunt for things to add to my 'chicken list'
I'm sharing this because I'd love to know what's on YOURS. What's that thing, that out-there thing that's the 'boy I'd love to do that and also the whole idea scares the snot out of me?' for you? What's on your 'chicken list'?
I'm working on my 'chicken list' (which is not meant to add pressure - nope - it's about adding DREAMS, k?)... maybe we can work on them together. What do you think?
