This really will take 2 minutes.
Yesterday I had to take advice I hear myself give to clients all. the. time.
And it occurred to me this morning - as I was running around getting kids here and there between a broken braces bracket and a delayed school opening - that the same advice might also be helpful for you today.
The thing I hear myself say constantly to people is 'how about we just decide, here and now?'
So often when I talk to clients there is some kind of decision they are avoiding making - maybe they're nervous about choosing right, maybe it's more about feeling like they have to look at all the options first, maybe it's that they just haven't intentionally taken a moment to think 'here's what I'm going to do' - and the decision they haven't made is stopping progress.
This was true yesterday for me too.
There were a handful (4!) things I really needed to just take a few minutes and make decisions on... I knew the options, I had ideas and I just hadn't sat down to actually decide. I was waiting for... nothing, really. I was just waiting.
Knowing I was really just NOT deciding, I took 10 minutes at the end of the day yesterday and made 4 key business decisions (including what's going into the Valentine's day packages I'm sending to clients, can't wait!). And now they're DONE, and I can move forward from them.
No more waiting.
Okay... so here's the 2 minute part for you, right now.
Take 15 seconds and think about what you're WAITING on deciding. What decision haven't you made (or decisions...) and therefore are not moving forward because you haven't actually decided how?
Once you know what decision you need to make, take the next minute and a half to consider your options (serious, you only need 90 seconds).
And then take the last 15 seconds and ACTUALLY decide.
(then, maybe take the next 5 minutes and congratulate yourself on your decisiveness ;))
