If selling is stressing you out, this is for you...

For the first...6 years of being a entrepreneur (of 8) selling was my biggest point of stress.
I was constantly convinced I was missing something, doing it wrong, not on the right track, that people didn't see me, that I was sharing too much, that no one would ever buy (even when they DID buy, which is the craziest part).
Maybe you can relate. Maybe selling has, or does, stress you out too.
Over the last few years I've come to a place in business where selling doesn't stress me out. I don't hate it - I even will admit out loud that not only am I not intimidated by it, but I actually like it.
And I was thinking this morning about what exactly it took for me to get to this zen sort of place.
It turns out that the things that made the most difference for me are - annoyingly of course - pretty damn simple.
There are three - and they're here for you. Because what I want for you more than anything is for you to also not be stressed out about sales.
Ready?
First: I had to decide people WANTED what I have and they WANTED to hear more about it.
This, again, seems simple - but also it makes a HUGE. FREAKING. DIFFERENCE.
Ask yourself: do I believe people want what I am offering? Why/not? Do I believe they WANT to hear more about it? Why/not?
See where you are in this... if you're HELL YES to both, cool... and if you're not? Well, that's where the work starts.
Second: I had to decide that there is no wrong way to sell something.
I realized at some point that I was trying to do sales like other people did. I was trying to follow their rules.
And then I remembered that I don't really like other people's rules. And also that I knew people who were successfully selling things in LOTS of different ways... so maybe it wouldn't be wrong if I just did it MY way.
If all the ways other people made up to do sales worked, why couldn't mine?
Ask yourself: if you could SELL any way you wanted, what would you do? What would be FUN? What would feel good to YOU?
Then do that. If there are a million ways to sell, congratulate yourself on finding way 1,000,001.
Third: I decided that selling wasn't BAD, or WRONG, or INAPPROPRIATE. I decided that it was important, and that I was good at it.
Literally. I decided this. Like 1000 times a day for a long time.
I would think: selling isn't wrong; it's important, and I'm good at it.
And then? Somewhere along the line this became TRUE.
Ask yourself: How would it feel to decide that selling is important and that you're good at it? What would change if you felt like THIS, vs. stressed about selling?
And then?
Turns out selling is A LOT less stressful when you think people want what you have and want to hear about it, when you get to make the rules about how you do it, AND when you think you're good at it.
Which YOU - yes, you - can also decide.
I'm not different from you, I'm not some special magical lady who decides things and suddenly they are *poof* just like that.
I work at this. I worked at thinking like this. For a year...longer... but it didn't take the whole year for this thinking to start making a BIG difference.
It has paid off both in money - because you make more when you aren't stressed by selling - and in EASE (and time too!).
What if you practiced deciding these things too, right now? What if you decided them every day from now until Christmas?
What if selling in the second half of the year, into 2024, could feel so. much. simpler?
