Success doesn't come from more time

Dear ,

I know my drumbeat lately has been all about time... but that's because I truly believe that changing how we think about time changes EVERYTHING else for the better.

For example...

I have been the boss of my own schedule for nearly 5 years.

And there are still days (many days, today) where my brain truly and deeply freaks out if I'm not sitting at my desk, ready to work at 9 am.

My brain gives me a raft of shit if I 'finish early'... god forbid I not be at my desk until 4 pm.

As a business owner, logically I know that I do not actually need to spend 7 hours at my desk a day.

I have built a business that does not require that, in any way shape of form.

I have built a business that is highly-flexible, simple to maneuver, and that really does work for my family and life while also making money AND doing work I

love.

Yet still there is this layer of nonsense.

The good news is that because of all of the tools I have as a coach, because I GET coached, because I am aware I see the nonsense for what it is - nonsense.

I have the thoughts, ones like 'oh shit, I'm late' or 'eeeek, I shouldn't be closing my computer for the day at 2:30', and 'I'm going to fail if I don't put in the hours...' and know that they just simply are not true.

I KNOW I can't be late. My boss doesn't get mad because I am the damn boss.

I know that when I'm ready to be done for the day, it's fine to be done, because I have seen the evidence over time that forcing myself to spend extra time at my desk just because it's not 4 yet actually doesn't get any more stuff done. It just makes me feel bad.

And I know that success doesn't equal hours. Seriously.

Yet there is still nonsense.

I'm telling you this because my guess is that there is some version of this that happens to you too.

Where you tell yourself you aren't working hard enough. Or that you aren't present with your kids enough. Or that you'll fail if you don't x, y, or z.

I want you to know that this nonsense is normal - I have it too - and also that you don't have to listen.

Just because your brain says it doesn't make it true.

Success doesn't come from more time.

You're not practicing the viola, friend.

Success comes from knowing which things you have to do actually make a difference, which things CREATE success for YOU, and then doing those things.

Over and over.

Sometimes maybe they take 7 hours.

And sometimes they take 7 minutes.

Either way when you've done the things you can be DONE because you did what was needed to create success.

Today I'm going to be at my desk from 10:30 is to 3.

Tomorrow it's going to be like 10:30 - 12 and 1 - 2:30.

And my business isn't going to fail as a result.

The things that matter won't go unfinished.

Nothing will be wrong.

I will still have nonsense thoughts about it. And then I will choose to do my thing, the way I do my thing anyway knowing that I'm doing exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment.

Because that's what it means to stand up and own your time.

I'm going to do me.

You DO YOU.

❤️ Warmly,

Sara

PS. If you own a business and you KNOW that your 7 or 8 or 10 or 12 hour day isn't what you want? You know - somewhere deep down - that you're spending more time than is needed spinning and you could just be doing what's needed and moving the hell on?

I know exactly how to help you do it differently.

Success doesn't come from more time.

I will help you figure out the things to do that actually matter, and make it simple to do those things over and over.

It's going to take a shit-ton less time to do those than what you're doing now.

Ready to spin less, get time back, AND accomplish more?

Hit reply and let's talk about it - I'm ready to coach you.
