My puppy has FOMO, now what?

Hey there ,
This is Ruby.
Ruby has SERIOUS FOMO.
How do we know? Well...
- If she meets two people she runs between them like one of them is going to evaporate.
- When she says hello she greets you like you have been missing for 10000 days.
- When she eats she eats like you are going to take her bowl out from under her at any moment.
- When she and Luna (the other puppy) get treats she eats half of hers, runs to Luna's, runs back to hers, and forgets to keep eating.
- When she hears someone up in the morning, she MUST see what they are doing NOW.
She moves in so many directions sometimes her ears turn inside out.
By the end of the day she is EXHAUSTED.
And a lot of us are a LOT like Ruby.
- We run from thing to thing like we're going to miss our chance if we don't do all of it all at once.
- We greet potential clients with so much enthusiasm they want to run away.
- We try to do 16 things at once and just end up with 16 half-done things.
- We constantly watch what EVERYONE else is doing just to compare it to ours, and maybe decide to change it to be more like them, but maybe not, but partly, but wait, did you see what SHE was doing?!
- We check other people's websites, feeds, and stories to see what they are doing NOW.
- When we're NOT doing all the things at all at once we tell ourselves we're doing it wrong, we aren't good enough, and we're destined to fail.
By the end of the day (every. single. day.) we are exhausted.
FOMO is real.
And for Ruby, it might always be her puppy personality (but hopefully not).
But for you and me?
It's not necessary.
We don't have to be like this.
Friends...
FOMO is OPTIONAL.
There is another way.
And the other way is DECIDING.
- You can decide to focus on one big crazy goal at a time.
- You can decide NOT to follow all the people.
- You can decide not to get lost in the FB scroll.
- You can decide that the only RIGHT way is YOUR way (btw, this one thought has changed my LIFE and BUSINESS 1000%)
FOMO is real, but it doesn't have to run your life. It doesn't NEED to be in the drivers seat - that's YOUR spot.
And to take action on this right now?
Ask yourself:
- Where am I afraid of missing something/missing out?
- What would happen if I did miss out? (I mean, really... what would actually happen?)
- If it wasn't actually possible to miss out - what would I actually WANT to do?
THIS is how you start to turn the volume down on FOMO and up on YOUR voice.
And it can make ALL the difference in your business (and your life!).
Here's to a little less FOMO for all of us (including Ruby!).
xo,
Sara
P.S. And if FOMO is one of THE things standing between you and success?
I can help.
Life with way less FOMO - where you listen to YOU way more than anyone else - is what I teach clients (and Ruby).
If you are ready to just do YOU (instead of everyone else all at once and btw omgwhatisshedoingNOW?!), coaching can help.
