The best kinds of parties end at 10 pm

Jun 03, 2021 9:42 pm

Hey there ,

I have never been what one would call a partier.

I don't love being out (or awake, really) late - and for me late is 11 pm - I'm not into having TOO much of basically anything, and I could do without places that are really loud.

(Yes, I'm like 110 years old.)

My kind of fun has always been different.

I like to hang out with a person or two at a time.

I like to eat delicious things, talk about ALL the ideas, and geek out over weird things like how people learn, or what's growing in the garden.

As an adult I have come to love my version of parties which basically consists of chairs, my driveway, and people I love coming to hang out (during the day, ha!).

I have learned to accept that my form o fun is not everyone else's fun...and that's okay.

And over time I have had to come to the EXACT same conclusion for my business.

Y'all.

Business CAN and SHOULD be FUN.

YOUR kind of FUN.

My business is FUN for me - I have FUN....I help people, I learn, I experiment, I connect, I talk to people, I occasionally break stuff. I mean, really...what's more fun than that?

Lately, because I want to KEEP having fun, I've been asking myself ONE key question again and again and again...

What would be FUN to try?

And then I've been working to roll with whatever my answer is - and ENJOY myself along the way.

All of this thinking about parties and fun has lead to some unexpected things...

This week I got to do two things that I thought were a HOOT.

First, I had a colleague I adore ask me to make a chart for a #genius post she had written so she could publish it as a blog.

Thinking about how to turn her amazing ideas into a chart was FUN (and she insisted on paying me, which was also fun, as well as totally unexpected).

You can read her post and see the chart here. (You can also follow her if you love it, she's got plenty more good stuff where this one came from...).

Second, I got to be a guest on a podcast hosted by people who were total (wonderful!) strangers.

I had seen their podcast listed somewhere and thought they were great, so I reached out to ask if I could be a guest...and they said YES!

It was so FUN (I mean, it ticked a LOT of boxes for me...help people, connect, talk with people, experiment...) and it turned into a GREAT conversation, you can check it out here.

AND, in addition to all of the unexpected fun, I've been thoroughly enjoying (yes, #dork) creating the videos, emails, and bonuses (3 so far!) for the Selling WITHOUT Salesy challenge later in the month.

If you aren't signed up yet (you do need to, even if you are on this email list), you should :) It's going to be FUN!

Sign up for the challenge here.

ALL the fun.

Here's a thought I want to leave you with.

My business, work, and life have gotten progressively MORE fun because I have been focusing on HAVING fun.

What if the same could be true for you?

What if everything was just that much more FUN all the time?

And what if all you had to do to get to more fun was to think about having fun?

Wouldn't it be fun? (sorry, not sorry...couldn't help myself!)

Here is to MORE fun - in life, business, and everywhere in between!

Warmly,

Sara

PS. You know what's NOT fun?

Not making money in your business, trying to do all the things all at once, and/or trying to do it all RIGHT all the time.

Yuck.

If this is you, know that all of this can change sooner than later by adding MORE fun.

I help my clients to have more fun while simplifying, prioritizing, focusing, and connecting.

And their businesses GROW as a result.

If you want more fun, more success, and way, wayyyyy less yuck, I'm ready to help.
