What will you do?

Oct 18, 2022 12:31 pm

Yesterday, I asked a question...

What will you do?

Then some series of "negative what ifs" followed.

And I promised to tell you my reason for that question.

But before I do that, I got some answers I will like to share.

"This got me laughing so hard😂😂 "Go back to bed and sleep on the side that you think is good."

Anyways for the question you asked...

Although, it might not be easy o, but think I will just move on.

That's not the end of life.

When there is life, there is still hope for better things to come."

A. G

"Tomi,

Haa! Please don't let me even imagine these things I just read. The friend I trusted most betrayed me around July last year and I still haven't recovered fully. I still have triggers sometimes."

S. S

Well, I'm sorry for your loss S. The person didn't know how wonderful you are. If he or she had known, he or she would have been better to you.

"All I can think of is seriously God

My life depends on God and me"

W. U

Now, that we have shared some answers,

Let's move to why I asked.

Some months back, I watched a video that really changed the way I thought about things.

Especially "the sides that we humans have."

The good and the dark side.

In fact, it opened my eyes and taught me to "think more about my dark side"

I embraced and still embrace the negative side more than the positive.

Side Note

Don't get me wrong.

I love my positive side so much.

In fact, I prefer that side to any other thing.

But my negative side needs as much love it can get.

And this is not me dwelling on the negative side all the time...

Or having evil thoughts...

They still peep in most times.

Or corrupting my mind with bad things...

Real struggle of the mind.

But I've learnt that, you really can't do away with your negative side.

I can even say this with my full chest that,

With the fact that I embrace the negative side,

My mindset is not polluted and I think positively most times.

End of Side Note

And this happened because of a particular statement the guy mentioned.

He said,

Life is more about managing your DOWNSIDE than it is imagining your UPSIDE.

You see

Most of the times, we really don't want anything to do with our evil side than the good side.

And I get it.

I totally, completely and sarcastically get it.

But, what if I tell you that you need to know the dark side of you very well.

Yes! And this is the reason.

If you get to know that side, you can make that side better...

Then, manage it well to yield positive results.

You see dear one,

Your dark side teaches you PAIN.

"Tomi, pain in not pleasant. Why will you say I should embrace a side that teaches me pain?"

I know pain isn't something we all pray for.

But...

Pain can be an excellent teacher, if you learn to look it dead in the eyes and face it rather than running away from it or sedating yourself. Pain teaches you majority of the best thing that happens to you in life.

And another reality of our lives, "we can't run away from pain. It is a part of our race"

So why not make good use of that pain?

Huh?

Funnily, if someone had asked me that question years back,

I would have said some of the answers I received.

But now, I've come to realise that...

Embracing the negative side of yourself, is one of the best thing you can do.

Because, It will help you recognize yourself better and become a master at controlling your thoughts.

You see, everyone is evil.

Yes!

Have you ever wondered why we have our constructive and destructive side?

Don't even tell me you've not thought of destroying people or things before.

So you see that, embracing the more destructive side of you will really open your eyes to reality.

Look at this,

Because I've learnt to embrace my darker side than any other part of myself,

Anytime wicked or dead thoughts come,

I can easily control them.

How?

I've learnt that my evil thoughts are from my dark side...

And since I'm learning to embrace it more and more,

I can easily snap out of it, change those thoughts and channel them to be positive.

A win-win situation.

The more I embrace it, the more that side keeps letting me know what it is thinking.

Remember,

Even in every evil thing, there can be a good from it.

Well, I've been sent and I've delivered.

Stay safe.
