"We left that Saturday... Not knowing it was the last"
May 10, 2023 1:11 pm
"The field is set, everyone is anticipating the match, children have all chosen their team members and they are all happy to touch their feet to the ball"
And it starts!!!
"Pass the ball!"
"Yes! Taiwo lo gbaaa!" (Taiwo go and collect it!)
"Ronaldo set wa ree!" (This is the Ronaldo of our set)
"Hehe! This one be like Messi oo!"
"Oyaaaa! Pass Omo yiiii" (pass this child)
And…
"Goallllllllll!"
"Yessss!"
That's the joy of every kid in their team when there's a goal and it's for them
After much rigor, insults, whines and sweats…
The match came to an end.
Few guys that could wash their legs with water did…
Those that couldn't, did not.
A few that rolled their trousers up, dropped it
Those that had their houses nearby, went home…
And the people that came around to cheer all disperse after the match…
However,
One thing we all did not know…
"We left that Saturday… Not knowing it was gonna be the last"
Not the last for our lives or anything
But the fact that, "The children then didn't know that they won't be together to play ball again"
There's this Yoruba Adage that says,
"Omo Ogun o le sere fun Ogun odun"
(20 kids can't play for 20 years)
It occurred to me that…
We've been meeting a whole lot of people right from our childhood,
This brings us to the football match we played as kids
For those of us that loved ball, we were always involved so we met a whole lot of people,
And for those that did not have any interest in it, they came to cheer sometimes and at a point have met people as well.
Even if we didn't realize the importance of Quality Relationships then,
And at one point or the other, we got separated.
Moving on, we've met a lot during our secondary school days and now the majority of us are in university, meeting different people and building relationships with people.
This time, we are much more mature to know the importance of Quality Relationship.
Emphasis on the "quality"
So, it would be our loss if we don't…
BUILD and MANAGE Connections and Relationships that would take you far in life.
And that's where we will close the curtain today.
See you on Friday for the next Episode, sorry email.
Enjoy your day.
P. S.: "Tomi! There's no lesson in this mail?"
"Well, there's. If you can't find it… Read it all over again and be calm this time"
Once again, enjoy the rest of your day.
Signing out!
Lights Off!
