Faith & Life Lessons - April 10, 2022

image

Welcome to the April 10th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week

In simple things this week, God reminded me that He is leading me in this season of life through unexpected paths.

There are times when things didn’t turn out the way you planned but you know the new out is God’s plan.

This is one of those seasons for me.

As part of navigating it, some bills needed to be paid.

It’s interesting how the monies come in right on time.

On Thursday, I got a notification from the bank that there was a significant payment that would throw my account into overdraft I didn’t fund by 1 pm.

Well, I had an inflow that was still tied within the banking system of either one of the two countries shaking hands over it.

So, my wife and I prayed that it would hit my account before the payment.

And that’s what happened.

As I type this, I’m on a bus going home after an international trip. The trip was tied to the season of life we are in.

It was interesting that throughout the trip, all the immigration and airport officials of the two countries missed something missing on my travel documents.

I had an alternative document that cleared me but I wasn’t asked to bring it out.

God was telling me “ if I can make them forget to see then I can give you the outcome you wanted but I didn’t because this alternative outcome is for my greater glory”

And that’s what I live for.

The greater glory of God.

I want my life to glorify God more.

Because I was faithful to walk with Him when He measure a difficult path for me.

Things I Learnt

1-Keep Researching Your Audience: I had been working on a project with my team.

We had reached the stage where we needed to get the concept approved by my head office before moving forward.

I did the presentation to them and it wasn’t approved.

I got comments saying the presentation was not compelling enough and there were still missing information pieces.

Fortunately, someone recommended that a copy of a previous project presented in the recent past be sent to me.

When I got it, I realized what the issue was.

Over the past couple of months, only the head office had presented new projects for approval.

As a result, they had changed the content and increased the level of information required.

I was working off the previous content structure that those of us outside the head office had used.

I could blame the secretary of the committee for not sharing the updated content with us.

Nope.

I blame myself.

I simply assumed everything was still as it was.

I should have researched the committee.

So busy on the project, I forgot to find out if their preferences had changed.

They have which is why we need to do the work again and represent the project.

Next time, we are aiming for the win.

2-Why I Fight for Marriage: Many stories come out which causes us to wonder what is marriage about.

Wicked spouses, abusive marriages, unfaithful partners…I bet you also see those stories.

I fight for marriage because God made it and He made it beautiful.

But the fall made it ugly

But I refuse to think it can only be ugly.

This is why I fight for it.

I hope my fight will show my children that God made it beautiful.

I hope that not giving up encourages my friends as they fight their own battles every day.

No matter the ugliness that some marriages go through.

There will always be beauty in what God has created.

And marriage is one of them.

Postscript

May the bad experiences of others not cause you to redefine the beautiful things God has made. May you always see them as beautiful as God made them so you can enjoy them to honor His glorious Name. Amen
