Welcome to the May 22nd edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week
This week was a bit of an emotional roller coaster.
House hunting is not as easy as some of those TV shows make it to be.
Our search could go into a TV show of its own.
My wife is doing the first look.
Let’s just say the prices aren’t matching what the apartments come with.
Speaking with our other friends who are also foreigners, they confirm the same perspective.
It’s the nature of the new world we are in.
We have embraced it and adjusted our expectations.
We are not too shocked when we see apartments that we think don’t match the price they are asking.
The good thing is that we think we are coming close to getting what we want.
It may not tick all the boxes but it will tick the most important boxes.
God is at work.
Things I Learnt
1-When God Uses Strangers: After service on Sunday, our family had an expected conversation at a restaurant.
We were having our Sunday lunch when a gentleman who had been eating at a table near us, on his way out told us"you have a special kid, raise him well."
That's an unusual conversation starter.
We found out he runs an insurance brokerage in Ghana and was in town for the week for a conference.
He told us he was no preacher but he could see that our kid is special.
All I can say is that God sent him to remind us of something we already know.
During the week, he reminded us that we had not visited anyone's place since he arrived.
In the whole business of trying to settle down, we were forgetting to make time to connect with people.
This is just one of the ways that having him helps to remind us of things we need to be focusing on as a family.
As parents, we needed to be reminded of the unique responsibility to forge the heart of our children to live out the roles that God would have them live out.
In a way that honors him.
2-When a Team Works: The team I lead has pushed on many goals we set.
I was looking at everything and realized something that had helped.
It was how I had defined my role.
Aside from providing the overall strategic intent for the team, there was something else.
My biggest role is this - clear the obstacles in front of the team members and not be an obstacle to any team members.
This works perfectly because the team members are good at what they do.
Postscript
May your eyes see clearly to understand the true meaning of the events happening around you. Amen
