Faith & Life Lessons – April 14, 2024

image

Welcome to the April 14th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week

This week was overwhelming for me.

I was a bit under the weather for most of the week. Add to that, the week was interrupted by a couple of bank holidays ensuring that some things I had planned for the week could not be completed.

However, something good came through it all.

It gave me the time to rest and recover.

And catch up on a couple of other important things.

On Saturday, I was able to spend some devotional time to recover some of the intimacy in my relationship with God that I had missed.

It was great to end the week of overwhelm with a deeper sense of peace from knowing I am held close by God.

A greater feeling to start a new week with.

Things I Learnt

1- Focus on the Result: I have been working on a book. On Saturday, I completed my first draft. On Sunday, while speaking with a close friend I had told about the book project when I started, he told me about a dilemma he was trying to resolve.

When I told him I was working on a book, he told me he had been trying to write a book of his own too.

When I gave him my update, he said he had been wondering why for all of his love for books, he had not been able to write his book.

He has now come up with a solution - he will get someone to work with him on it.

Instead of writing it “solo”, he will have a ghostwriter get the words out of his head and onto a page.

This is what it means to be focused on the results and not the process.

The result is the book. He is choosing a different process compared to what I did.

I loved my process and I hope he enjoys the ride with his process.

The result is the end game.

2 - A Community I May Not Get: For one of the goals I set for myself for the year, I have always believed I needed a community to work with.

So, getting into a community of people pushing for the same goal is one of my to-dos for the year.

That was until recently while I was praying and I think God wants me to go “solo” on this one for now.

What does that mean?

It means I will need to have more faith in God’s ability to multiply the efforts I will be putting into my goal.

Faith and work.

Faith is going to bigger multiplier of my work.

Postscript

May you never lose faith in God’s ability to multiply your hard work to deliver the goals He has marked out for you. Amen.
