Writing update

Hello Happy Readers!
If books burned calories, my diet would have gone much better. However, I did lose 4kg for the beach season, so I'm happy.
I bring you tidings from the land of caffeine, plot twists, and entirely too much mischief by Angelica Coraly in Villainous Wings. Book 2 is officially 150,000 wordsdeep—and counting. That’s right. One hundred and fifty thousand. That’s longer than most of my other fantasy novels, and longer than the time it takes to emotionally recover from your favourite character dying (don’t panic—I didn’t say it was your favourite...but muhahaha maybe it is). And they have only completed the first challenge of the year yet! All of the almost died, too! The person who saves them, makes Angie drop her jaw and everything turns on its head after that, secrets unravelling she could have never imagined.
Now before you worry about long waits and cliffhanger-induced existential dread—fear not. I am not making you wait years between releases. I solemnly swear that I’m writing faster than a caffeinated teacher with a school report deadline - like my husband.
BUT.
(And this is the part where I dramatically point offstage.)
Enter: The Editor. 🎭
The all-powerful, all-mysterious, grammar-wielding gatekeeper of quality. My fate—and yours—rests in their red-pen-clutching hands. Will they move swiftly? Will they be gentle? Will they ask me why I’ve used the word “smirk” 147 times in a single chapter? Only time will tell.
So, while I finish wrangling plot threads and figuring out which characters deserve happiness (hint: not all of them... oh and Kate is extremely angry... for good reasons, but well, when she calls King Blackbone a Leech and tells him that she thinks Watson should be with Angie rather then him, then...shit hits the fan), know that progress is real, momentum is strong, and Book 2 is planned to come sooner than you think after Book 1.
In the meantime, keep reading, keep reviewing, and keep threatening to storm my inbox if I ever disappear for more than a month. It’s deeply motivating. 💌
