Hello again!

I hope this newsletter finds you well!

I would love to tell you all that I've been working day and night to bring new stories into the world, but I have unfortunately found myself a little side tracked. I bought a new laptop to play video games on, you see. I found myself glued to that thing every spare minute I had over the past few weeks.

(For those who are interested, I've been playing Total War: Warhammer 2; Far Cry 6; Jedi: Fallen Order; and a fair amount of a city-building simulator called Cities Skylines. That last one hooked me surprisingly hard! I never in my life thought managing traffic in a simulated city could be more engaging than action-packed Star Wars or fantasy games, but there we are.)

These games have been a welcome and entertaining distraction, but at some point eye strain and the threat of carpal tunnel syndrome reminded me that gaming cannot be a full-time occupation. I got back into writing, making slow but steady progress.

What am I working on now?

I'm working on a short novella with the working title: The Dustmakers. It's about a young woman tracking her older brother through a worldwide dust storm after he is abducted by a cult. As she draws closer to finding him, it becomes apparent that maybe he wasn't kidnapped, and maybe he joined them willingly.

The story is told through her perspective looking back on the events as an old woman, and she hints that she may not be 100% honest.

It's an interesting little project that I'm using as a palate cleanser between finishing War with Elves and starting on book 2 of that trilogy. Hopefully I'll be able to release The Dustmakers later this year!

The King & Kishar on sale

I have to issue a bit of an apology here. In a previous email, I expressed the hope that I would be able to price all my books at 99c permanently. Unfortunately, doing things this way will not work out.

The good news is that it's now easy for me to put them on sale for 99c temporarily, and I plan to do it regularly. As a subscriber to this newsletter, I want you to benefit from these sales, so I'll mention every time a book gets discounted to 99c.

The only thing is that these sales will be mostly limited to retailers other than Amazon for practical reasons.
