A whole new batch of books to check out for August, and some Kickstarter updates

Hello again!
So my Kickstarter launched, and a week later I have somehow hit 10% of the overall goal!
For my first attempt, that's already kind of an overwhelming amount of support. I hoped I would get 100% support on day 1, of course, but I didn't expect any miracles.
Getting attention for a project on the internet is hard enough. There are millions of books! Billions! Why choose mine over all those? Even harder than getting attention is getting people to pledge their hard-earned money, which a few people have.
Even if I don't reach the goal, I'll be very grateful to those people.
I won't keep selling the Kickstarter to you or keep hounding you to pledge money. I'm saving that for my family and friends the next time I see them. I'll just leave the link to the Kickstarter here. Check it out if you're curious:

Whether it succeeds or not, it was a very valuable experience.
Editing Progress - The Elixir of Power
The Kickstarter has kept me busy, but I've still had time for a little writing/editing.
My own editing pass for EoP Book 1 is close to done. Annoyingly, right as I reached the last few chapters, I realized there was a whole list of things I'd have to go back and check. They're all spoilers, too, so I can't even talk about them! If all goes well I'm hoping I'll be able to wrap it up by the end of this month.
I care a lot about this book, and the series that it's launching. Nothing matters more than getting it right. Since I'm a self-published author, this means I have nobody's deadline to meet but my own. I also have nobody's standards to meet except my own. Even if it takes a little longer than expected, I'm going to give everything I have to make the book the best it can be. When I get feedback from beta readers and editors, I'm going to consider every point carefully.
For me, the pleasure and satisfaction of writing is not in indulging myself or expressing my 'inner artist' or exploring my own imagination. The part I like is figuring out how to make my books better. I want people to like reading my books. Every minute they spend reading my book is a minute they could be doing something else. I just want it to be time well spent for them.
All this to say, it takes time, and it might take more time than expected. This time last year I thought I'd be able to release the book by February 2022! Back then I wasn't aware that I'd elect to rewrite the entire book FROM SCRATCH.
In the end, all that matters is the book. When a good book comes out, nobody thinks about how long it took to write. A hastily finished book, however, may be bad forever.
In the meantime, here are some other books that I hope you'll like:
