No rest for the wicked - or for writers who are 2/3rds through a trilogy, apparently ...

Hello again!
Hope you've been well!
I have been in the strange twilight zone between books for the past few weeks. At this point, 9 books in, it's a zone I've been in many times, but I'm still not quite used to it. Everything feels ... off, somehow.
During the writing and editing process, all my excess energy goes into the book. Thinking about it, tweaking my ideas, trying to carve out time for writing. Everything revolves around the book. Life makes sense. There's a sense of direction and purpose. Progression.
Now, I'm enjoying my time off from writing. I get to watch TV and play video games and just mess around doing whatever I want. But a life of pure hedonism is not nourishing to the soul. It is rest, but not especially restful.
Sooner or later, I start to crave the creative process. And just this week, I had some ideas for book 3 pop into my head unbidden.
It's a sign that the winter thaw is beginning, and the first shoots of springs are starting to poke through the frost. By which I mean, the urge to write is coming back. See how I had to phrase that in a tortured, clumsy metaphor? That's a good thing! It means I'm almost ready. Almost ...
For the moment, I just bought two new games on impulse (not my fault, they were on sale) and they're taking up all my spare time. Hedonism reigns until I finish them or get bored.
Maybe in a couple of weeks, maybe a month, I'll start plotting out the final book of the trilogy. And then, shortly after that, the real work begins.
In case you missed them, here are links to book 1 and book 2 of my Elixir of Power trilogy.
Below are a dozen or so books by authors like me that you might enjoy. Some free, some cheap - check them out and see what you like!
