Twiggy Rattlesnake – Thanks, Readings, and Reviews

Jun 09, 2021 5:49 pm

Dear ,

Today is day 9 since Twiggy Rattlesnake and The School of Time and Space released. Yesterday I got to drop off a load of signed paperbacks at the school here in Tallinn where I run an after school club––seeing how excited the children were to finally get hold of the book was delightful.

I also did a reading at another school on Monday, have two more tomorrow and at least three next week. Each time, I read the first two chapters, then answer their questions about the book, about my writing life and about books in general––really, whatever these young minds dream up. I was asked a lot on Monday if I was famous––I've got a good answer for that one––but signing my autograph (two girls even wanted a hug) sure felt fun.

Personally, I don't care about fame. I do want to sell books (lots of them) and see films made from the stories that I've invented. But fame isn't my goal––just making a living.

However, something that I keep telling the children when I read this book, I do want help to Make Twiggy Famous.

Launch week has been slow, even by my standards (which isn't saying much). I tweaked the prices a little yesterday, making it as affordable for you as it is for me to sell them at––Amazon do take a good cut. But, you won't be disappointed, nor will your kids and grandkids.

Please, invest in Twiggy Rattlesnake and help me reach that goal of making young Twiggy famous.

There's more... as I mentioned above, I'm doing school visits, live reading the opening two chapters, which gives a feel for the story. And yesterday, I recorded both chapters and uploaded them to my YouTube channel, so you can listen to them as well (please do, and feel free to comment, share the video etc). Here is the first video:

And this is chapter two (if it doesn't automatically play the next video, or if you come back to it later):

If you like the video, be sure to give it a thumbs up, and if you like the sound of the book and haven't yet purchased a copy, please go for it.

Reviews:

Adverts started on Thursday (lots of spend, little success so far, story of my year...) and at the time of writing, Twiggy only as a single review (if any) on each Amazon site, and just 6 collectively on Goodreads (I say this, because in this email list are at least double that number who received an advanced copy). Please can I encourage everyone to get reviewing (I know you have to read it first, so don't rush) but just remember that when done, to leave your thoughts to help (I hope) others with their buying decision. As I've published this under T. P. Heath, to anyone new to me Amazon, I look like a first-time author with one book out and no reviews––hardly confidence-instilling if the reader isn't already fully convinced about the series (as they aren't yet, because Twiggy isn't yet famous). Lol.

Thanks for your help!

I really hope you enjoy the videos, if you've not yet had a chance to look into the book, and that these encourage you to get either the eBook, or the paperback.

Reader Map:

One more thing as I think of it... with the chance of holidays and travel coming back for some of us, don't forget that when reading my book in some exotic (or otherwise) location, to let me know, and I'll add it to my reader map! I can't wait to see how it'll look by the end of summer.

Amazon Link for Twiggy:

Here's the eBook link before I forget (paperback also available––why not buy both?)

Hardcover:

I know Brits tend to call it a hardback, but Amazon goes by hardcover, so I'm using that term.

In case you missed the announcement on social media, The 26th Protocol is now also available in hardcover, which is super exciting. I can also produce all my other thrillers in this option too, so if there is one you are desperate to see in hardcover before the others, do let me know by replying to this email! I'll be sure to let you know when the others are ready.

Have a great end to your week––it's very hot for Tallinn right now, but the sunshine is richly enjoyed!

Tim
