Dear ,

Yesterday was a proud day for me... I realised a dream when I registered my first ever completed screenplay with the Writers Guild of America West for my piece titled Salva. It's an original work... I didn't want my first screenplay to be an adaptation, which I think would be a little harder to do. While I'm learning the format and rules of screenwriting, I wanted to keep it as simple as possible.

Seeing films made from my ideas has been a passion of mind from day one. Yesterday, I really did move a whole lot closer to making that happen.

Watch this space.

When the film is optioned, I will probably write the book too so that you have it in that form. For now, I'm happy to let the process develop.

Next week I'll be working through the third draft of the next Twiggy Rattlesnake book, having received my editor's feedback this week (ps, she loved the book).

I'm also back in school next week with a new year of my popular after school club teaching storytelling which is finally beginning again. For the trial week (at least), I've got kids ranging in ages from 5 to 15! It should be fun.
