The Good Thing About Bad News...

Dec 05, 2024 5:01 pm

Hello ,

Have you ever had one of those weeks where it seems like if it weren't for bad news, you'd have no news at all?

That opportunity you were hoping for falls through, an extra bill shows up during an already lean season, everyone seems to be getting sick, and it all happens when you're so busy you're close to burn out.

That's a bit of a glimpse into what has come up for me lately.

Honestly, while I'm a certified Master Life Coach and an intuitive, empathic reader... I'm also human.

Life happens.

There was a time when I would have absolutely crumpled under the weight of it all.

Where I would have slipped into victim mode and whined about 'why me' while indulging in all kinds of unhealthy distractions.

As I told a colleague just today, I've been a bit in turtle mode lately with it all.

Despite all the bad news and hits, I'm feeling SO hopeful!!

I know that sounds contrary or overly prosaic. But honestly it's the truth! Let me tell you why.

Every time life lines up seeming set backs and disappointments, it's ALWAYS making room for something better!

This has proven to be a consistent truth in my life time after time. The examples from my personal life are almost endless.

Like when my husband and I were about to get married, had just moved a state away from family, and he lost his job. Making time for our wedding and opening space for going back to school and a MUCH better job.

Or when we suffered a miscarriage right after telling our girls we were expecting which gave us space to deal with financial situations that soon followed and be able to be present when our extended family needed help grieving a major loss.

Now I have absolute trust in what the bad news pile up will bring.

The perspective I have now allows me to openly examine the ways the Law of Compensation and the Law of Rhythm are playing out in the situation.

When we are rewarded for the right action and nothing is fixed but always in cycle, you're never down for long!

But how do we weather the storm before the rainbow you ask?

While it's all well and good for me to share my hard won perspective with you, I know this is an easier mentality to say... than to feel.

Here are 3 things that can really reframe bad news pile ups:

First, Look Back.

Can you find evidence of times when things were as bad or worse than your current situation? Did something even better come after it?

Make a list of these correspondences if you need to so you can see the evidence of this in your own life.

Need a little outside perspective on this? I'd love to gift you with a 30-60 minute private consultation session and get you additional resources right away.

Next, Get Clear.

Really dig back into what it is you truly want and be super clear with yourself whether what you feel you lost or what didn't work out was actually in alignment with that or not.

Getting clarity is one of my favorite things to read for clients and this weekend I'll be at the PNW Witches' Market Yule Celebration able to do just that!

Then, Look Forward.

Once you've had your chance to feel the feels over this situation, look ahead to what you have to look forward to.

Especially this time of year, there's usually at least one thing you can look forward to and, if not, make one.

In fact, you could join me this upcoming week on December 10th & 11th for the JV Connect networking event. It never ceases to amaze me how much of a boost attending this event brings.

If you're struggling with this and would like some support, please reach out.

It's my mission and my privilege to help others to move past the hurdles and lessons I learned the hard way, faster and with greater ease.

I would be honored to have a conversation with you. You deserve to have this be the most wonderful time of the year!

To Your Dreams,

~Elizabeth Watson
