π© Good day, Donuts!
It's Sunday, which means that it is the day I get to spend a little bit of time with you. ππΌ
Last week I briefly exchanged emails with Ted French (one of the better niche website builders on Twitter π), discussing how often the success of a niche website depends on some luck and good timing.
This left me thinking about the success and failures of some of my niche websites. I haven't updated my list of projects since I started my blogging journey in 2020.
I've updated all old projects and added two new ones to the list. One of the new projects is in Tech and is in partnership with Odys.global. This project is listed under #7 in the article below, and I explain more about it in the article below.
Quick housekeeping: When you see a sentence or a word with a Strikethrough followed by bolded text, it means that I've changed my mind on something. For each project, you will find a new section starting with "2022 Update," where you can read the update in 2022 for that project.
My Niche Website Projects Explained [Hardly][2022 Update]
I'll leave you with the link to the article here.
One Week without Twitter
I can't say whether it feels better or "it is awesome," but I can't lieβI spent more productive days last week.
On top of my everyday work - uploading, formatting, and preparing new articles, I've written three short articles, each around 1000 words, plus one massive 4000-word guide on Slow Living for Solopreneurs for brainsandgainz.com (I didn't manage to upload it, though).
During the time I usually spend on Twitter, now I quickly write between 500 and 1000 words per day. Not bad. I would like to see how this experiment goes. The goal is to keep my once-per-week Tweet on Sunday for at least a year.
π° This reminds me to share a short article by one of my favorite authors Cal Newport - The Real Problem with Twitter.
π‘ Keep in mind that staying away from Twitter is an easy-peasy task for meβI am a self-absorbed introvert living my best life in the best stoic-zen bubble I managed to create. π¬πͺπΌ
Next week, I'll show you what I did with the first website of mine ever hit by Google's Core update (the one in June 2022). What's interesting in this case is that I have two similar websites in the same niche, where the one was hit, the other was not.
As I have told you at the beginning of this email, luck plays a bigger than we think role in this game of building niche websites.
Now, I have to go back to work as I have only 7 hours left to finish the task below.
Have a disconnected Sunday. Present awaits.
Own your future, Friends!
