ο»Ώπ© Good day, Donuts!
I am pretty sure that this is how I will spend the day, including the pizza part. I am grateful for all the food delivery services we have these days. ππΌ
Okay, this is the second part of "Hunting Big Keywords." In the first part, I've explained why I had to shift from the Avalanche + KGR technique and why I went after more categories from the same niche.
In this part, I will share some speculative thoughts (maybe) about publishing articles from a silo at once and my current and future plan for link building.
-1- Publishing articles from a silo at once
The idea of going after more categories from the same niche appeared first this summer. I published around 15 info articles for a new category. Unfortunately, it didn't go well. The new silo barely ranked for any targeted keyword.
During November, I've decided to upload and schedule all articles for December to free some time for link building. This time, again, I've selected another two new categories, which I haven't covered yet. And I've scheduled maybe 20 articles for December. But one day, in the middle of November, I've selected all these scheduled posts in WordPress and hit publish. It was an impulsive action without giving any donut's thought.
So, I hit publish. I went to sleep. I woke up. I worked on more articles. I repeated my typical work for a few days, and much to my surprise, a few days after I've published all these articles, the majority of them were already ranking for their main keyword. Many of which were on the first page of the SERP. A little website with a DR2 was ranked among big authoritative websites with DR70+.
Currently, this is my process of publishing articles - at once, in silos. I wait for my writers to write at least ten articles from a single category (which is a silo), and I will publish them together.
I may give you some speculative thoughts. Perhaps the first category I've added was a "bad one." But also, I can say that by numbers and data, it is one of the easiest to rank for. Perhaps, once Google crawls one article from a silo, as they are well connected through internal links, it leads to crawling another one, then the next one, etc. which maybe Google sees as "Okay, this website is also about the topic "X" as it covers not only one random article about this topic, but it covers all the important aspects. We can give this website a boost about this category."
Anyone with a theory about the above thoughts?
-2- The aim of my current and future link building initiatives
As I have mentioned in my last report, I am buying links. Not a lot, like 5-6 links per month. I plan to buy an expired domain (probably from Odys) which I will redirect to my website. But no one wants to receive 100 backlinks, out of a sudden, on a domain, which usually receives 0 backlinks per month. So, I am "lubricating" the ground to slip the redirection more naturally, if you know what I mean. π
-3- Much to my surprise, the hockey stick is growing
This is a screenshot from today. It is small growth, but I finally see results from all the efforts.
My cat, Goldie, is attacking me to play with him, so I am going on a battle. Wish me luck.
You, donuts, have a warm Sunday. And don't forget to take the time to play today.
Own your future, Friends!
