Good morning, friends!

If you haven't already, now's the perfect time to dive into investing. Last week's Thread post about my net worth got me thinking—I only became serious about investing in 2019 and now nearing half a million dollars. It still shocks me!

As we get older, there are some solid perks to investing as an older adult:

  • The kids are more independent or have even flown the nest,

  • Our peak earning years are here,

  • and catch-up contributions on investment accounts mean you can put away more each year.

Let's grow that nest egg—ready to get started?

Feeling the Retirement Crunch? Here's What You Need to Know

If you're approaching retirement age, here's a heads-up: a recent study found that many 55-year-olds, especially Gen Xers, are seriously behind on their retirement savings. The median nest egg? Less than $50,000 — yikes!

It's not just about the future either. Right now, more than a third of folks in our age group would struggle to cover a $400 emergency expense. Sounds stressful, right?

But hey, it's not all doom and gloom. It's never too late to start planning. Maybe now's the time to get serious about your retirement savings. Let's chat about how we can make those dollars stretch farther.

Plant-Based Burgers: A Healthy Alternative Worth Trying!

Thinking about trying plant-based burgers? Recent research suggests they might be better for your heart than traditional meat options. They’re lower in saturated fat, higher in fiber, and can even improve cholesterol levels and body weight.

Plus, they’re tastier than ever! Brands like Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods have really stepped up their game. So, if you’re looking to mix things up for your next BBQ without sacrificing flavor, these could be a great choice.

Cheers to healthier grilling!

That is it for now! Have a wonderful Independence Day celebration. Be safe with the fireworks and remember to get those walking steps in.

Cheers!
